I’m a little embarrassed to admit this, but I haven’t touched my DSLR since the fall. There are several reasons for that which I won’t get into here. But many times, it was as simple as feeling like there wasn’t anything worth photographing. This is silly, of course, because there are always things worth preserving in digital image yet, it didn’t seem like it this past season.
As the temperatures begin climbing and the animals (including humans) begin to come out to play, my funk as begun abating and my interest in photography begun resurfacing. I took my camera out today to one of my favorite spots in the city: the riverbank near the Mendel. The weir was a bust (Where are you, pelicans?!), but along the trail, there were plenty of critters about. Chipmunks, sparrows, mice, and of course, Canadian Geese were out in full force!
Hopefully, 2016 will be full of many great adventures some of which, I’m sure, will be camera worthy. Here’s to spring!
