Many people would agree that the University Of Saskatchewan has a very beautiful campus. One building in particular though looks a little out of place. No, I’m not talking about the glass eyesore that is the Agriculture Building. Tucked in amongst the large castles of health and medicine is a little house made of stones. This is literally The Little Stone School House.
Okay, that wasn’t the original name. In fact, this is the old Victoria School which was the first school built in Saskatoon. When it was decided that the school needed to expand, this little shack needed to be removed to make way for the massive school that exists today on Broadway Avenue. I don’t remember much of the kerfuffle behind the move other than the fact that the original school was moved stone by stone to its current location where it became a storage building before becoming a mini-museum. (Which is, of course, not open right now due to COVID.)
