Spring in Saskatchewan is so ugly. We go from a melty but freezing flood to everything being dead and brown. After several weeks of that, every suddenly goes green. There are very few things that come slowly and overlap to create a beautiful spring, like in other places in the world. Here’s one of the few proper signs of spring on the prairies.
At the end of April, I got out with my dog for a lovely walk around Crocus Prairie. Last year, we went there too late in the season but this year, we were on time to see those glorious little purple flowers popping up through the ground. Yes, I’m talking about crocuses! Here are a few that we saw.
