Out of Hibernation

It’s finally started!  The spring thaw is here!  And wow is it ever mushy out there!  The funny thing for me though is that I was already feeling a bit ‘springy’ even when it was still -30C out there.  As soon as the days begin getting noticeably longer, it’s hard not to start thinking about gardens and camping and all those other fun things that come with the warmer months.  It didn’t help too that when those crazy -45 windchills hit us, I had several plants at home in bloom including my amaryllis.

But even though I had those feelings of spring in my mind, my body was too cold to really go anywhere.  Until now!  After running a few errands today, I decided to head to Museo Cafe at the Mendel Art Gallery to have a coffee and get in some reading.  Knowing that I was going to do this though, I brought my camera so I could check out what’s growing in the conservatory these days and get some fresh air down by the river.  Here are a few of those pictures.  Ahhh!  It really does feel like spring now!
