Jazz Festival Review

I know this is a bit late but I’ve been concentrating on getting up stuff on the bands website so my own site had to wait a bit.  But I’m finally in a position where I can share stuff here too.

Due to continuing circumstances in my employment search and financial situation (yes, I’m still looking for work!  Hint, hint!), I was unable to take in any of the paid events at this year’s Saskatchewan Jazz Festival.  I managed to catch a few free shows during the first weekend which were wonderful.  I love the Friendship Park venue, despite some minor issues with the new sound system, but it was nowhere near as awesome as the free stage at Garden Architecture – a local garden and outdoor design store.  I definitely hope that the board continues this idea of mini free stages because they are a wonderful idea.

But of course for me, the highlight was actually performing at the festival.  Don’t believe I was there?  Here’s the proof!

A beautiful warm Saturday afternoon with little breeze – what more could we ask for?  Not only was it a blast to play but the show itself went well and I can’t wait until next year!  We have several video clips up on our website – www.toontownbigband.com – but here’s one to whet your appetite.
