Tuesday, September 22nd was the Autumnal Equinox for those of us in the northern hemisphere. And it was a perfect day to head out to Pike Lake, the closest provincial park to Saskatoon.
Initially, I went to do some kayaking but unfortunately, the weather had turned a bit and was too windy to make an attempt. But that was okay because I had another goal – hiking.
We started with a wander to the lake and then through the picnic area enjoying the multitude of colors on display this autumn. From there, we headed to the Gift Of Green nature trail near by. This short trail is one of my favorite places to be. Beautiful scenery and adorable critters always make for a fun time. I know I don’t need an excuse like an equinox to go but this year, it felt so perfect to celebrate the changing of the seasons while basking in the glory that nature has to offer.
