My last day in Calgary was a bit sad. It was so nice to be there again and have that change of scenery so I wasn’t really looking forward to going home. In many ways, I really miss living there. The shopping, the city scape, and the surrounding outdoors are just hard to beat. On the other hand, for a city that large, it is missing a lot of culture and and a solid music scene which was always something that bothered me when I lived there and would be hard to deal with should I find myself living there again. I didn’t get a chance to go out much at night but considering how difficult it was to try to find evening activities in the first place, I don’t think much has changed.
But I digress. I hopped on the C-Train after breakfast to do some walking around downtown. Unfortunately, it was a little too early in the day to do any shopping but it was still nice to wander my old stomping grounds. I used to love just walking around downtown between all the tall buildings and business people. After a couple of hours, I jumped back on the train then, into my car and onto the highway to head back to Saskatoon.
Another place I hadn’t been to in awhile though was on my way home. Just west of Drumheller is a look out point for Horseshoe Canyon. I’ve often referred to that area as a ‘mini Grand Canyon’ and I think you can see why!
And that’s all, folks! That was my weekend trip! It was short but sweet and I can’t wait to hit the road again soon!
