“Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum vidur.”
Translation: Whatever is said in Latin, sounds profound.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to write a great About Me section and everything I read came back with the same advice: start with a killer first line. Not being able to think of one on my own, I turned to my book of quotes that I’ve collected over the years and decided that the one above perfectly suits me. Why? Mainly because it’s funny. And I like making people laugh, yes, but I also know that laughter makes people feel good and I like people smiling and being at ease.
Alas, life is more than a collection of profound but often useless quotes from the talented but lucky. So, what else is there to know about me? I’m a naturally curious person who’s fascinated by the world around her. I love music and really anything created with passion and love. I detest people who use the phrase, “Well, life isn’t fair!” as if that’s an acceptable excuse for inequality. If you’re not always striving to make this world a better place for everyone then, you really should just ship yourself off to an island far, far away from those of us who possess something weird called empathy. Okay, that was a bit harsh but in the modern age, our struggle to survive has taken a new tone and whether we like it or not, we’re in it together. So, let get off our duffs and do what we can to help each other out and keep our crazy planet moving.
If you’ve read any part of this blog recently, you’ll know that I’ve been in a bit of a rut lately. It happens to us all at one point or another and I’m not going to hide it or be ashamed of it. It’s been tough but I’m working hard to change my circumstances and I appreciate all the good vibes you can send my way. My current mantra is now summed up in a meme I found on social media
“When life gives you lemons, construct a crude electro-chemical battery”
I hope you enjoy this blog about my adventures and check out some of the other tabs about the other things going on in my life!
