A Country Wedding

I don’t go to weddings very often but when my lovely friend and former coworker, Emily invited me to her’s, I had to say yes. Well, “had to” is maybe not the right way to put it. I happily said yes!

The wedding was to take place on her acreage outside Meacham, a town about 45 minutes from Saskatoon. It was a windy day but a sweet little ceremony. And yes, she looked gorgeous!

I don’t normally like small towns but as this wedding was in mid-July, I got to do something that in all the years of living in Saskatchewan, I never got to do: the canola selfie! I know, it seems silly, but when you see those huge fields of yellow, it’s hard not to fall in love with them!

The reception was quite big as I’m sure everyone from miles around showed up being that we’re talking about small-town Saskatchewan. I was lucky that another former co-worker and friend was able to join me. Good food and good friends – what else is there? Congratulations Emily and Dalton!
