I’ve heard a lot of people talk about fishing at Borden Bridge but I have never been there. To be honest, I’ve never really know where it was. With everything still on hold due to the pandemic, I thought finding this place would be a nice little adventure. As it turns out, I’ve seen this bridge several times before – on Highway 16, the road to North Battleford.
Borden Bridge is an old bridge spanning the North Saskatchewan River that has since been replaced by a newer and wider bridge. The old bridge still stands though and has become a lovely little spot for fishing and photography. I did both on my visit. At least, I tried to do both.
I have never had any luck fishing but this trip was extra bad. Out of 5 casts, twice my lures got so stuck that I had to cut my line. Needless to say, I put my rod away at that point. But I had lots of fun walking around looking at the flora and fauna of the area.
I also got a chance to practice a little portrait photography with my friend Emily. Early this year, I was preparing for a photography business but my health wasn’t so great that spring. By the time I was ready, COVID-19 hit. But with cases a little lower and the weather still on the warmer side, I thought now would be a good time to boost my portfolio a bit. And yes, I’m looking for more models – hint hint!
